A loan helped a Latina-owned small business grow, generate local employment, and support animals in need.

Lorenis's story

Hola, my name is Lorenis, proud dog mom of Renzo and owner of The Doggo design co. I am an architectural designer that loves dogs too much ( if that’s possible). After finding myself unemployed due to the global pandemic, I decided it was time for me to create something new by combining my two passions: dogs & design

The doggo is an online dog accessories boutique that also creates custom artwork of your pets & seeks to support local shelters with every purchase. Puerto Rico (where we are based) has a huge problem with dogs and cats overpopulation which affects local shelters' capacity & resources. As part of our mission, we want to be able to donate enough with every purchase in order to help provide better facilities for shelter dogs.

This loan will help us grow by allowing:

- provide local employment to artists & sew-artists

- create better marketing campaigns = higher reach & sales

- allow us to allocate a budget for donations and resources for local shelter improvements

- keep us moving and bringing new inventory more frequently

This loan is special because:

It supports a female entrepreneur in expanding their business.
