A loan helped us to get a trailer and some equipment.

Hany's story

My husband and I got laid off during the pandemic. We start to sell Philadelphia Souvenirs online. I already started selling souvenirs before the pandemic but did not take it too seriously. I had 13 years of experience as a souvenir store manager in Philadelphia. I met my husband in 2017 and got married in 2019. I have a daughter and a son from my previous marriage.
We start open street vendor in spring 2020, near famous Cheesesteak in Philadelphia, Geno's cheesesteak. Our business is growing and making sales. The problem is come from the weather and also City's regulation that we couldn't have a bigger table than 4'x8', so we made it smaller to fit 4'x8' table. We try to get the truck/trailer so we can keep open even if raining and we can sell more merchandise to grow sales.
We give some donations to help kids who can not go to school in Indonesia from this business as well. One other mission that we want is an open a storefront in the tourist attraction area, such as near Liberty Bell, Philadelphia. This loan program from KIVA is helping us to make our business grow and give back to our community as well.

This loan is special because:

It supports this passionate entrepreneur to expand their business.
