A loan helped to purchase more fish and chicken to sell.

Miatta's story

Meet 40-year-old Miatta from Liberia. She is a married mother with five children. They live at home while attending school. Miatta runs a food market selling fish and chicken. She started to sell with her own savings. She uses car to transport supplies to her business site. She sells from in the morning up to the evening hours.

Miatta requested this loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner, to purchase more fish and chicken to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it gives her fast profits. She sends thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
