A loan helped a minority family-owned clothing brand expand nationally.

Philsacia's story

My husband and I are Waco natives and have always dreamed of creating a premier local fashion brand, which is why we started “Blessed To Be Different”. The pandemic put a lot of things into perspective and inspired us to start a business. This turned from an idea to an actual business after a car wreck claimed our only means of transportation and we needed a new way to make income. We have incredibly big goals for both our company’s growth and the growth of Waco. Eventually, we want to own a warehouse where we can create products in-house instead of outsourcing, as well as offer it as a resource to other entrepreneurs. Our primary focus right now is to keep growing with the help of Kiva and Startup Waco.

This loan is special because:

It supports a Black female entrepreneur in expanding their business.
