Robert's story

I am a Detroit native that fell in love with music at a young age. My parents introduced me to the Motown sound and Detroit house music. Since then, I have had a burning desire to find my place within the music industry. I’m passionate about supporting people in pursuit of their dreams. Through avid research and years of studying the industry, I found my perfect fit. Artist Management was a role that would allow me to combine my love for music and passion for watching a person’s dreams materialize.

I studied business management at Western Michigan University. It was there that my foundation in artist development began. While studying at WMU, I established a registered student organization to help budding artists access the campus’ resources to help create their projects. Upon graduating from WMU, I began my career as an artist manager for local Detroit artists.

I saw a need for a cohesive multi-arts workspace for local area artists to produce high-quality art and network with like-minded peers. I decided to team up with my cousin, Anthony, and long-time friend, Cory to open 1417 The Spot. We started our recording and production hub to encourage artists of all mediums to utilize the advances in technology and ease of access to the market to retain more ownership of their products.
