A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for maize cultivation.

Marget's Group's story

This season is not the first one that Marget is working alongside One Acre Fund. She has been a member for a few years now, having joined the program in 2014. Although she is the only person featured in the above picture, she is actually representing her group of 17 farmers in the Teso District, Kenya.

Marget is often described by her community as a very hardworking individual. She decided to be the one to represent her group because she wanted to be more active in her community. Like many of her fellow farmers, Marget decided she wanted to be part of the One Acre Fund community in order to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds. She hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to invest in a business.

This loan will not only help Marget, but the whole group, who will receive maize seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 5.75 acres of land.

In this group: Marget, Selina A, Hellen, Anyaa, Celina, Fidelis, Mathilda, Felesta, Atenge, George, Josphin M, Merab, Agartha, Lydia, Rebecca, Elias, Daniel

This loan is special because:
