A loan helped a single mum to buy quality farming inputs, such as good certified seeds and fertilizers, to improve her farm production.

Beatrice's story

Get to know Beatrice, a beautiful single mother who works on her mixed farm! Converting her idea of starting a farm into a reality was the biggest achievement of her life. Beatrice started farming with the aim of supporting her child. She keeps cattle and poultry for milk and eggs, and grows crops. Her farming success was achieved through the fact that she is, among other things, very innovative and focused.

Access to modern-quality farm inputs is the pillar of the agricultural revolution. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is far below the farmers' needs. Since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement in input availability.

Beatrice is humbly seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds and high nutrient fertilizers in order to grow more crops, and then to use the profits from her farm to improve her child's living conditions. This intervention will help her to fill the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and improve the quality of life for her family. She also hopes to improve the condition of her house.

Help this always-smiling and happy mother to accomplish all her dreams with a loan!
