A loan helped add stock to her business.

Florence's story

Florence is a 30-year-old married mother of 5 children and a refugee living in Yumbe. She is a farmer who plants maize, cassava, simsim and beans. Four of her children are school-going.

Florence is able to feed her children through the sale of crops but is selling less since the yields have been greatly affected by drought. The challenge she is facing is of low yields so she would like to buy seeds and also dry food stock like posho to sell. Through this she will be able to pay for her children's education.

She believes her children will be better people with education and because of this she is forever grateful to VisionFund and Kiva for the support they have given her.
