A loan helped to buy piglets, feed, medicines etc.

Ubilda Iralda's story

Ubilda Iralda and her family live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016 and by the covid-19 pandemic. The city produces vegetables, beams and tropical fruits for internal consumption. Ubilda Iralda raises and sells pigs, fattening them to a good weight to then sell to vendors who come to buy them. Her husband helps with sales and with everything.

Everyone in her family became ill with covid-19 and have recovered. Social isolation meant she could not work at the beginning of the pandemic due to various restrictions that made it difficult to go out and sell, but now she is following bio security measures. This loan will be used to buy piglets, feed, medicines etc. Her dream is to have a pig farm and for her family to enjoy good health.
