A loan helped a member to purchase raw material to make breads and pastries.

Las Girasoles Group's story

Los Girasoles is a community group originating from Jinotepe, Nicaragua. The 8 members are united in solidarity to strengthen their businesses selling bread, tortillas, clothing, and cosmetics.

Marlyn Jamileth (seen in the white blouse and red skirt) is 32, married, and has two school age children. She stands out for being communicative and empathetic with the rest of the group. Her business is a bakery; it has allowed her to support her family financially. With the loan she obtains she will invest in her business to make a larger variety of breads and pastries through purchasing raw material like flour, salt, and yeast.

Invest in a woman, transform her life!
