I've run my own business since I graduated high school. I always knew there was a lack of black artists in the tech space and I wanted to change that with my art. I started $NP Designs with the idea of answering design questions to those who may not have access to or understanding of proper design in their small businesses. Originally, we started as a t-shirt company and grew into an agency doing branding, web design, and development, motion design, illustration, augmented reality, UX/UI design, creative direction, print, and digital marketing.
As a black-owned, woman-owned business, I want to also bring art and tech to marginalized communities and bring in community vendors and volunteers. I've always done everything myself and for my largest show in 2022, I really want to bring on a team to make it the biggest show I know we are capable of.
We have successfully planned and executed 3 solo art shows since 2017 and due to COVID had to cancel and reschedule our latest show until 2022. With the added time, we can get major tech companies on board to help fund this massive augmented reality experience.

We curate art shows that feature community vendor marketplaces, implementing STEM and design. Our next event, A Decade of Dimensions is slated to happen July 24, 2022, in Downtown Los Angeles.
What is the purpose of this loan?
We will be hiring a Sponsorship Coordinator who will aim to raise $75,000 in funding to fund the entire 2022 augmented reality art show, A Decade of Dimensions. We will also be paying our marketing coordinator to plan and develop materials for Q4 which include Black Friday and the Holidays on all social platforms.
This loan will give us the capital to pay them and not be stretched thin for cash where we can focus on other areas of improvement for our company and payroll.

What does "Partner covers currency loss" mean & how could it affect my Kiva loans?
When lending internationally, the local currency in a borrower's country may lose some of its value compared to the US dollar -- requiring the partner to use more of its local currency to repay Kiva in USD. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
"Partial" means that the Lending Partner has opted to cover losses only up to 10%. If the U.S. dollar appreciates more than 10% against the local currency, those losses will be passed onto lenders.
"No" means that the Lending Partner is not covering any currency losses and all losses will be passed onto lenders.
