A loan helped to buy taro root seedlings, banana tube seedlings, chemicals, bag back sprayer, and chainsaw.

Fagalei's story

Fagalei is 55 years of age, married, and has six children. She sells taro and bananas in her community to earn a living, which she has been doing for four years. Fagalei works very hard to please her customers with her fresh taro and bananas. She even delivers her products to the flea market by bus.

Fagalei requested a loan from SPBD, which she will use to buy taro root seedlings, banana tube seedlings, chemicals, bag back sprayer, and chainsaw to help her run the business, The loan will help her to increase her income if she plants more bananas and taro. She comes from a family with no one else working to earn a living, so only her business helps meet her family's needs. She hopes that one day her family will have a great living standard. She became a member of SPBD in 2018 to seek finance for her business.
