A loan helped to buy bales of rolls of thread and dye, to save money to improve her family's living conditions.

Alimata's story

Alimata is mother to four children, three of whom go to school. She is a weaver and has for the past ten years been weaving traditional "pagnes" (pieces of colorful fabric popular in West Africa) of good quality at her home in a district in the outskirts of the capital.

She is on her fifth loan cycle with IMF Yikri and is requesting a new loan to buy bales of rolls of thread for weaving and dye, so she can weave a large quantity of traditional "pagnes" to satisfy customer demand. She plans to use the profits to reinvest in her business and to save money to improve her family's living conditions.
