This is a story about Tam, who is 22 years old and the leader of Nua Ngam 48 group. She married very early and has two children who are in nursery. She lives with family including her mother-in-law, her husband and children in a remote village in the northwest mountainous area of Vietnam. Agriculture is the main source to earn income for the locals.
Every day, Tam and her husband work hard as farmers on the farm with many agriculture activities such as planting rice, corn, and cassava and raising cows. Despite working hard, her family is still a low-income household in the village and has been recognized as a poor household by the local government.
Her income from agriculture is unstable, and moreover, her field isn’t flat, making it lack water so she had a poor crop. In order to increase her income from the field, she must level it, but she has a problem with a lack of capital. Fortunately, she successfully borrowed a fourth loan from the Anh Chi Em program, after repaying all the previous loans, to cover the expense of leveling the field.
Tam hopes the income from agriculture will improve and she will have enough money to take care of her children who will go to school fully and have brighter futures than hers. The remaining profit she will use to invest in poultry farming.
