A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa-making business and also use some of the money for maintaining their plantation and perfecting it.

Lotomo'ua's story

Lotomo'ua is a mother of six children, and her husband is a farmer. She and her husband run multiple businesses, including making tapas and running a plantation. Lotomo'ua joins a group of women in their village for making the tapas, while her husband takes care of their plantation daily. Once a week the women gather into a hall and perform the making of tapas. Lotomo'ua also designs her tapas, then sells them. Sometimes her tapas are sold locally, but most of the time she exports them overseas to her two sisters. On the weekend, she spends her Saturdays at the market, selling their crops. Their crops not only earn money for them, but they are also a source of food for their family. This loan will help improve her business by buying lots of mulberry and also using it for their plantation. Normally they just sell at their market locally, but they are thinking of sending some overseas.
