A loan helped to purchase more vita, rice, washing soap, slippers, vegetable oil and other items to sell.

Tenneh's story

This is 42-year-old Tenneh from Liberia. She is married with 4 children. She attended school up to 4th grade. All of her children are currently attending school while living at home.

She runs a business where she sells vita, rice, washing soap, slippers, vegetable oil and other items. She has been in this business for the past 15 years and works 12 hours per day, 6 days a week. She has had no problem with her business.

Tenneh requested this loan from Brac to purchase more vita, rice, washing soap, slippers, vegetable oil and other items to sell and increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living. In the future she wants to increase her business. She says thanks and gives appreciation to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
