A loan helped to expand her tailoring business.

Batdemberel's story

Batdemberel G., 38, lives with her husband and three children in Uvurhangai, one of Mongolia's aimag centers, or provinces. She and her family live in a traditional Mongolian nomadic tent, called a ger, on a small plot of land that they own.

Her husband works in a local market as a guard. Her older daughter attends a university while her son is a monk at a monastery.

In 2003, after moving from the countryside, Batdemberel completed training that specialized in tailoring and sewing clothes. After this training, she started a clothes-making business in a rented room at the Noyon Hairhan NGO building. She makes and sells a variety of clothing items, but specializes in traditional Mongolian clothes and children's clothes.

Her monthly sales are approximately 600,000-700,000 MNT. She receives lots of orders during Tsagaan Sar, the lunar new year celebration, and Naadam, the summer sporting festival. She is a very hardworking and diligent person who hopes to keep growing her business and providing her customers with quality products. Batdemberel is requesting a 1,500,000 MNT loan to expand her tailoring business.
