A loan helped to buy manure to improve crops.

Julia's story

Julia, 53, is a cheerful, hard working woman. She lives in her own house with her husband, Artemio, 55, and their two youngest children for whom she’d like to proviD. a better quality of life.

Julia is a corn, pea and lima bean farmer. She works her fields daily from very early in the morning because she realizes that the money she will get from her products very much depends on the quality of her harvest.

She sells her products in the city of Tarma because that’s where she gets the best prices. What she most enjoys about her work is harvesting because that’s when she sees the fruits of long months of labor. She has been a farmer for 35 years and considers keeping her crops free of insect infestations to be the most difficult part of farming because they greatly affect production. She, therefore, would like to buy new fields and expand the size of her planting area.

This is her second loan with MFP; she feels that this contribution will be of great help for her work’s progress.

She is very well liked by her fellow communal group members because she is very supportive of them.

She will use the requested 1000 new soles to buy manure and fertilizers to improve the quality of her soil.
