A loan helped purchase of clothing for resale.

Rukia's story

Rukia is a business woman and also a farmer and has struggled to educate her children and also sustain her family welfare. She does all this with the help of her husband.

She joined UGAFODE in 2015 as a saver, but with time she started borrowing to pay school fees for her children and also boost her family's income.

On her previous loan of 2,500,000 UGX she was able to complete her family's house and also boost her boutique business. She has of late also included a salon at her business so as to diversify her income sources, and be able to acquire enough land for agriculture.

Currently she has acquired a loan of 3,000,000 UGX for adding capital in her boutique business. She has hopes of having a modern boutique and also begin advancing it into wholesale, since she has enough space for expansion and access to loans to boost it further.
