A loan helped a member to buy more banana plantains.

Dukore Zamuka Group's story

Christine is a 52-year-old widowed mother of five children aged 12 to 22 years old. And for the past 20 years, she has been selling foodstuffs.

Christine is the leader of the group named DUKORE ZAMUKA, which in English means “Let's work.” Group members, who will share in this loan, sell different items and own a variety of businesses.

Christine will use her part of the loan to buy more banana plantains to sell within her community to meet customer demand. With the profits from her sales, she hopes to be able to furnish her rentals.

Christine is thankful for your support.

Due to the global pandemic Urwego was not able to photograph all the members, but was able to get one representative, Christine, for the group photo.
