A loan helped to purchase more dried meat and dried fish to sell.

Alice's story

This is 41-year-old Alice from Liberia. She is married and has a business selling dried meat and dried fish. She attended school up to sixth grade. She has been managing her sales for eight years and describes herself as a hardworking businesswoman. Her husband gave her money to start the business. She has no problem with her business and uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. She sells Monday through Saturday, eight hours a day.

Alice applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. The loan will be used to purchase more dried meat and dried fish to sell to her good clients. Alice wishes to say "thanks."

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
