A loan helped to venture into a business of selling groceries.

Barikisu's story

Barikisu is a 25-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and child in the Karaga district in Ghana. She is requesting a Kiva loan to venture into a business of selling groceries. She plans to use the profit she earns to re-invest into her business. She will repay the 'social interest ' on her loan by volunteering two and a half hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.

This loan is special because:

It helps borrowers withstand negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
