A loan helped to build a roadside community convenience store.

Milciades's story

Meet Milciades!

Milciades is a young and enthusiastic Panamanian that lives in the rural community of Zapallal, in a territory known for being historically excluded from basic financial services.

Milciades runs a roadside car repair store where he dedicates to fix car tyres. He employs one person and inherited this skill and business from his dad. Milciades lives in a room next to his workshop and has identified a business opportunity to better provide for his familiy: open a small convenience store, next to his house where he can sell beverages, food, and snacks to locals and also people that pass by the main road.

Today, he's applying for his very first Kiva loan to realize his dream: build a roadside community convenience store that serves his community and the people that pass by. With this investment, he will be able to expand his business and also generate jobs to young people of Zapallal.

Thank you for supporting young entrepreneurs like Milciades in territories where financial inclusion and opportunities are limited.
