Dembagnouma Iii Group's story

The Dembagnouma III group is composed of 10 married women with an average age of 33, an average of 2 children, and they live in polygamous families in Wobougou, one of the villages in the Dioïla prefecture, in the Koulikoro region, the second administrative region of Mali.
They are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to better organize their rainy season activities. They grow rice, pearl millet, peanuts, and beans. They are on their second seasonal loan and their previous loan was repaid in full.
With this new loan, Sata F., the president of the group, plans on buying fertilizer and small farming equipment, and paying the labor costs involved in maintaining approximately 1.9 hectares of peanuts.
The harvested crops are sold in Dioïla to a client base made up of merchants. She hopes to make a profit of 80,000 francs CFA by the end of the season.
