But in just 3 months I received 3 phone calls that changed my life forever. In the 1st month a call that my mother had been hospitalized with stage 4 cancer. In the second month a call that my fiancé was shot while at a convenience store. And in the 3rd month a call letting me know that my grandparents were in a severe head-on collision, neither making it out of the hospital alive. This changed my life in a way I could never imagine. Becoming the primary caretaker at this time, I lost my job, lost my car, lost my home, and nearly lost my life from stress, anxiety, and depression.
While caring for my mother, I started sewing again. A skill I learned from her at a young age. Concerned about generating an income for my family, and affording medical supplies and general needs, I thought that turning my hobby of making bow ties for myself into a business would be the perfect solution to reposition my family from homelessness while allowing me the time and ability to continue caring for my mother and fiancé through this trying period. We offer handcrafted bow ties of varying colors and designs with a goal and mission of adding at least one bow tie to the wardrobe of every man in America to help create diversity in fashion selection and bridge the gap to other opportunities.
Currently, we operate our business online and make appearances at live events and vending opportunities to expose our products to new markets and potential customers. We sell our products primarily from our website online, while exploring a partnership with Amazon for better exposure and FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) opportunities.
Currently, we are in the process of finalizing 2 partnership deals to have products displayed and sold from high-end retail shops in the City of Pittsburgh in the Fall, with hopes of expanding along the east coast to Atlanta, Georgia in the coming year.
