A loan helped to purchase the ACE 1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Tankiso's story

Tankiso is a 33-year-old man who lives in a two-bedroom house, without access to electricity, with three other family members including one child. Tankiso works as a data clerk but struggles with buying multiple fuel and insufficient income. He spends the most amount of his energy expenses on LPG and paraffin, which costs up to LSL 280 per month. He also spends as much as one hour per day, gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Tankiso bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help him and his family save the money spent every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass and solar-powered. For more information on the ACE 1 cookstove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy
