A loan helped purchase of a grain mill.

Chaka's story

Mr. Chaka Dembélé is 26 years old, married, and the father of three children. He lives with his immediate family in the Pelengana Nord neighborhood in the city of Ségou (in the fourth administrative region of Mali).

Not having been able to attend school, he went into business at a very young age with his older brother, who had a store where he sold various products. After spending several years in business with his brother, he began to develop several business activities himself, such as the sale of grain and the sale of cement; he then changed his occupation to grain milling. He has been in business as a miller for 7 years and has a very good reputation in Bagadadji, his place of work. His clientele is due to the quality of service he provides.

In order to meet customer demand, he has requested help from Soro Yiriwaso to buy a new mill (huller). This is his first loan, and he will purchase the mill in Ségou.

Mr. Chaka Dembélé does all his business in cash, with a client base made up mostly of women. With this loan, he expects to make a monthly profit of 150,000 FCFA. This profit will allow him to pay his electrical bill, his rent, and his employees. His ambition is to diversify his business by expanding to cereal sales, or to open a large warehouse.
