Mrs. Awa is the group's representative. She is 54 years old and is standing at right in the photo with her hand raised. She is a married woman with two sons who attend school.

Mrs. Awa runs a business selling various goods (foodstuffs, shoes, incense, etc.). She gets her supplies from the wholesalers and retails them at her local market. She has a good 10 years of experience in this type of business.

[With her loan,] Mrs. Awa will purchase crates of garlic, packages of bouillon, 5kg of chilis, perfume, incense, etc. She will sell them for a good profit. The profits she receives will strengthen her secondary businesses and will increase her savings.
