Mrs. Chi Mao Village Bank Group's story

These nineteen people, who live in Prey Prum village, TaK. province, make up this village bank loan group. Mrs. Chi M., who was born in 1947, is the village bank president having been selected by the other members. The members will each use their portion of the loan for a different purpose.

Mrs. Chi M. and her husband, Mr. Bam Sek, are farmers who own a half-hectare (1.25-acre) plot of land that they use to cultivate rice to sell to support their family. Her husband is also a furniture maker.

Mrs. Chi M. has a problem because her field has infertile soil. So, to improve her rice production, she is asking for a loan to buy fertilizer. She is the mother of a child who is a student in the local school.
