A loan helped a member to buy smoked and salted fish.

La Qualite Group's story

Jeanne is a client of the micro-finance institution Hekima and the president of the business group "La Qualite." She is a widow, 54 years old, and a mother of five children, who are all in school.

Jeanne sells fish, a business she started in 1994 with start-up funds she received from her late husband. Later, she joined Hekima to support her business, which continues to evolve. With this new loan, she is going to buy smoked and salted fish, which will strengthen her intitial capital. One challenge in her business is with road insecurity.

Jeanne would like to see her children continue in school and to feed her family. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and their partners for their support of business owners who lack access to banking services in the context of this global COVID-19 crisis.
