A loan helped to purchase cattle in order to increase her income from breeding livestock.

Jamilya's story

This lovely lady is Jamilya. She is 61 years old and widowed. Her children are all adults. She has secondary education. As the primary source of income for her family, she has been practicing animal husbandry and plant agriculture since 2000. Thanks to her hard work and the help of her spouse, her farm currently has 7 cows, 20 sheep and 3 horses. She also has 2.6 hectares of irrigated land on which she grows alfalfa. With the goal of further developing her farm, Jamilya is asking Kiva for support in the amount of 150,000 somoni (KGS). This will be used to purchase cattle in order to increase her livestock headcount. The profits from the loan will help her expand her farm by increasing her headcount of pedigree cattle.
