Mrs. Pha So Village Bank Group's story

This village bank loan has eighteen people who live in Doun Pheu village, Takeo province. Mrs. Pha S., who was born in 1961, is the village bank president, selected by the other members. The members will use their portion of the loan to support their various businesses.

Mrs. Pha S. is a farmer who owns a 1.5-hectare (3.75-acre) plot of land that she uses to cultivate rice to sell to support her family. She faces an obstacle in that it is time to plow her field but she does not have enough money to support doing S.. S., to improve production, she is seeking a loan to hire a plowing machine to plow her field. With the rest of the loan she plans to buy fertilizer.

Mrs. Pha S. is a widow with three children, two of whom are seamstresses in a garment factory, while the other is studying in the local public school.
