A loan helped to buy farming inputs.

Hellen's story

Hellen is a 46-year old mother of two children living with her family in Eldoret, a town that was significantly stuck by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis when violence occurred in Kenya. She is a mixed dairy crop farmer who has farmed for the past ten years.

Microloans that are provided by Juhudi Kilimo have played a very big role in women empowerment at this time when the world is focused on reducing the spread of coronavirus. Hellen is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and make more income for her family. Through increased production, Hellen wants to expand her market and make more profits. Her dream can be achieved if Kiva lenders extend their goodwill to her.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
