Santos is a woman who is passionate about horticulture and floriculture. She has a small greenhouse of ornamental plants. She also dedicates herself to agriculture and raising farm livestock. Santos receives help from her husband with work that requires manual labour.

She is requesting a loan to sow 0.5 manzanas (3,525 SQM approx.) of carrots and also maintain 0.25 manzanas (1,763 SQM approx.) of celery. She will invest this loan in the purchase of supplies and fertilisers to give her crops assistance.

Her wish is to have a good harvest and in this way support her husband with the expenses of their home.

Santos es una mujer apasionada a la Horticultura y floricultura. Cuenta con un pequeño vivero de plantas ornamentales. También se dedica a la agricultura y a la crianza de animales de granja. Santos recibe ayuda de su esposo con labores que requieren mano de obra. Ella solicita un préstamo para la siembra de 0.5 manzanas de zanahoria así como dar mantenimiento a 0.25 manzanas de apio. Invertirá préstamo en compra de insumos y fertilizantes para brindar una buena asistencia técnica a sus cultivos.

These collateral-free loans to solidarity groups and women farmers will be used for agricultural production. Most of the loans are short-term and finance the purchase of agricultural inputs; however, in some cases, the loans may be longer-termed (up to 36 months) and used for the purchase of machinery and equipment. Aldea Global works with borrowers in the northern, coffee-growing region of Nicaragua, where incomes are heavily dependent on coffee.
