A loan helped to buy a biodigester to turn her farm waste into resources to expand her business.

Gladys's story

Gladys is a young entrepreneur taking over the family farm. She is very interested in the opportunities that new technologies can offer. Gladys wants to be part of a new adventure: organic eco-responsible production, and she has convinced her parents to upgrade their production with a Biodigester.

The family has 15 cows producing daily organic waste. Using this system, the family will grow their corn production and avoid ground contamination and excessive CO2 emissions for the well-being of the next generations.

Gladys is an example to all the small household farmers that it is possible to make a farm a real business opportunity.

This loan represents 76% of the full price of the biodigester; the remaining part was covered by a cash down payment and a government subsidy.

This loan is special because:

It saves farmers money by transforming waste into biogas and organic fertilizer.
