I started Happy Garden Family Childcare, a home daycare company, in 2012. I had been working full-time for three years at Whole Foods Market, but I had to have surgery on my left foot. I could not work there anymore, so after two years I decided to open up my own business. Because of my passion for working with children, I decided to create a childcare center – a home daycare. I opened the daycare and soon was able to acquire a license to serve up to five children at first. Now, I have a license to serve up to 12 children.
What is the purpose of this loan?
This loan will be very helpful to my childcare company in that it will help me: a) change the old fence surrounding the kids’ playground that needs to be replaced; and b) make fixes to the house so that the children can have more space and a better quality experience.

We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
