A loan helped a member to buy materials for sewing.

Comunidad De Ruiz Group's story

This group includes women who have different productive activities. They all work hard to help to provide for their families. Their businesses include sale of typical clothing, sale of fruits and vegetables, sale of cosmetics, sale of butchered chicken in markets, sale of tortillas, and extra-urban bus service.

The president, Maria Gloria, has worked for many years selling typical clothing. She also sews "cortes" and "güipiles" [traditional skirts and blouses]. She always has work, but at times she gets requests for many garments, which she cannot supply with her own work. For that reason, she requests a loan to invest in materials and to hire people to help her make the clothing. Thus she will be able to continue keeping her clientele; there are months when she has a great amount of work.

In this group: Ana Leticia, Maria Gloria, Marta Lidia , Maria Ileana, Doris Anabella, Marcia Dalila, Ruth Nohemi, Astrid Johana, Dora Esperanza
