Martha, age 35, lives in Paraíso de Guayaquil (a periurban area with dirt roads and eroding hills). She has a grocery store, and she sells rice, sugar, and canned goods.
With effort and little by little she was buying rice and sugar, and she was able to have her own store. She did this to be able to help her husband with the educational expenses for their two children. He works collecting plastic containers. He helps her in the store after work.
In order to stock her store she needs a loan to buy rice, canned goods, sugar, and a display case.
In the future she wants to stock her store more in order to have more income and change her family’s life style.
