A loan helped to buy farming inputs, which she will use to improve her production and make more income for her family.

Trupena's story

Trupena is a 67-year-old mother living in Kitale, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands, which favor large-scale grain farming, dairy and horticultural farming. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer with an unending desire to succeed.

Trupena is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs, which she will use to improve her production and make more income for her family. Microloans that are provided by Juhudi Kilimo have played a very big role in women's empowerment at this time when the world is focused on reducing the spread of coronavirus. Trupena is hopeful of Kiva’s support.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
