A loan helped to buy an electric corn processor to make empanadas and tortillas.

Yamileth's story

Meet Yamileth,

She is a young and very proactive entrepreneur that lives in a rural community of East Panama. Yamileth sells tortillas and clothing. She goes to Panama City (5 hours away) to buy clothes and then resells them in her community. Yamileth also raises pigs.

She distributes the tortillas with her mother-in-law in her town and nearby communities. Before the pandemic, she would sell the tortillas door-to-door, but after the pandemic, she sells the empanadas and tortillas by phone.

Today, Yamileth is asking for a loan to buy an electric corn processor and also to buy some ingredients to expand her empanadas and tortillas business.

Thanks for supporting women-owned micro-enterprises in rural Central America.

This loan is special because:

It empowers the most vulnerable women in Central America by extending access to financial services.
