Basaminda's story

Basaminda D. is from the village of Potungan, Dapitan City. She is 58 years old, married and has four adult children. To make a living, Zenaida buys and sells seasonal fruits. The main source of income for the business comes from selling lanzones, a native fruit, in the local community. Basaminda has been engaged in her business for more than five years and earns approximately 3,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month from it.

In 2007, Basaminda joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Basaminda has successfully repaid a previous loan of 6,500 PHP from PMPC. This previous loan was used as additional capital for her business.

Basaminda is requesting a new loan of 10,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase fruits to sell. This will be the fifth loan taken out by Basaminda from PMPC.
