I started El Cardenal because I wanted to create my own company after working as a cook for so many years, and I saw the unique opportunity to make a delicious salsa. El Cardenal offers authentic salsas, tamales, and �Legendary Tortilla Chips� made locally. All products contain no preservatives, are vegan, and are gluten-free. Our salsas go great with our tortilla chips and tamales and are delicious when used in pastas, salads, pizzas, casseroles, soups and with potatoes. Everything is made with my original recipe and made with pride in Hart, Michigan! Our products are sold to grocery stores, farmer�s markets, and at some festivals.
What is the purpose of this loan?
This loan would be used to help El Cardenal become more efficient and build more capacity by purchasing key equipment. I would use the money to build a bag packing /weigh station for our tortilla chips, and to purchase a used steam kettle with stirring to prevent our salsa from burning. We also pay for graphics and get a printed chip bag (to alleviate paying for 2 labels and labor to apply 2 labels).
