A loan helped to help Nelly buy more farm inputs to boost her production.

Nelly's story

Nelly is 48 years old and is blessed with four children and a loving husband. Her husband is a teacher and they work together to support their family and their elderly parents. Her business is farming and she enjoys it very much. What she loves most about it is when her produce does well and she makes good profits out of it. This motivates her in her business as it is the source of livelihood for her and her family.

She is kindly requesting a loan that will enable her for irrigation and to buy farm inputs that will boost her production. Her plan is to use her profits to pay back her loan as she continues meeting her family's needs. This loan will go a long way in uplifting her family’s standard of living. Her dream is to see her children get a good education and for her family to live more comfortably in the future. She also aspires to become a large supplier of farm-fresh produce. Nelly is happy to admit how these loans through Kiva's field partner ECLOF-Kenya have helped her to change her life and that of her family.

This loan is special because:
