A loan helped a minority led product development initiative jumpstart production and initiate operation.

Jean's story

Unfortunately, because of mismanagement, misfortune, neglect, and limited access to resources, my native country is still not able to meet the basic needs of most of its citizens. Political instabilities coupled with various cycles of natural disasters tend to exacerbate the chaos, causing an ultimate collapse of the local economy. I can personally state that, during my upbringing, my focus was more on acquiring enough skills to survive rather than chasing a dream such as becoming an innovator.

My vision regarding the future was constantly shattered by a repeated crisis like social and political unrest. That harsh reality helps justify my unabated appreciation for living in a country that offers its citizens limitless latitude if they dare dream large and try hard. I cherish the opportunity of being able to pursue product development as a hobby which now becomes a true passion. I use my imagination to try to innovate.

I am inspired by the stories of other people from different parts of the globe who come to America in search of a better life and then participate in the shaping of society through ideas, inventions, academic, and other types of achievements. I am further encouraged to discover that some of my native countrymen and many of our ancestors contributed in various ways to the fabric of this nation. One of those ancestors, Jean-Baptiste Point du Sable, took on the incredible initiative of starting one of America’s currently most vibrant cities.

My belief is that discipline, perseverance, and hope can help anyone conquer the impossible. I have already gone through some of the most critical steps leading to the development of a new product. Now, I gratefully count on YOUR HELP and participation to foster its implementation.
