Chuchiu Norte Group's story

Carol Suani, 35, is a hardworking woman. She's also the president of the Chuchiu Norte communal bank. You can see her in the photograph with a sign that says "President."

The communal bank is made up of Hipólito, Carol, Santa Carola, Félix, Mary, Alejandra, Yanine, and Cristian. Some are small business owners and others work providing services.

Carol has had a neighborhood store for five years. She requested a loan to buy a freezer for selling ice cream. She wants to diversify her business. She wants to improve her income because she's the single mother of a 13-year-old young man.

All the members of the bank hope to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families with the loan.
