A loan helped a member from the vulnerable Roma community to make some repairs at her family shelter, so it will be safer for her family.

Yljana's story

Yljana is a 21 years old member form the vulnerable Roma community, who is asking for the first time in her life for a loan. She hopes that with Kiva lenders understanding she will be able to make some repairs at her family shelter so it will be safer and warmer. "We have just moved from my parents-in-law's house and the house where we have relocated is not very good, we hope we can make some most needed repairs, like doors and windows, so it will be safer at least for our little one!"-said Yljana, optimistically during the interview.

To provide for their family Yljana work in a shoes factory, while her husband works as a labourer in construction. Their incomes are low but they promise to pay every loan installment on time.

This loan is special because:

It helps heavily marginalized Roma and Egyptian women create better lives for their families.
