A loan helped to buy seeds for planting, in order to improve productivity and thereafter her living conditions.

Caroline's story

Over time, Caroline (35 years old and a single mom of 3 school-going children) has been persevering to reach her goal of improving her living conditions and having a better life. She is a loving and unassuming woman who works tirelessly for the welfare of her family.

Caroline hails from the Eldoret area of Kenya, near the famous Rift valley escarpment of Kenya. She has been farming for the past many years. Through those years, she has gathered much experience and is considered among the best farmers in her village. She practices mixed farming. Her primary sources of income are dairy animals and crops, and some small business ventures that help her to make ends meet.

Caroline is really passionate about farming and loves cultivating her farm. That is why, every day, she wakes up very early to go to her farm to plow.

Caroline has always wanted to increase her income by buying seeds to plant, so that once the crops are ready for harvest she can sell them. For this reason, she is seeking this loan. Kenya's Eldoret area, one of the county's populated regions, has a high demand for crop produce. This means that Caroline can increase her profits and satisfy the demand that is there.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
