A loan helped to purchase a dairy cow.

Joyce's story

Joyce is 30 years old. She is married with three children between the ages of 4 and 10. All of her children are currently attending school.

She is a farmer from Litein town in Rift Valley, Kenya where she has been farming for seven years. Her products are milk, eggs, tea, and chickens which she sells to the local market. She also earns income from the rental houses she owns in the same area. Her biggest challenge has been an inconsistent market for her milk, the high cost of medicine and the lack of enough food for her chickens and cows.

Joyce recently completed a previous loan from Juhudi Kilimo for 45,000 KES and has requested this loan of 50,000 KES to purchase a dairy cow. The extra income from this loan will ease the burden of paying school fees for her children.

In the future, she would like to increase the number of her dairy cows and rental houses.

She would like Juhudi to reduce the interest rate on loans and re-introduce grace periods on second loans.
