A loan helped a member to buy potatoes, rice, beans, charcoal, cooking oil and meat.

Maserafi Group's story

Mrs. Aziza is a client of the MFI Hekima and the president of the village group Maserafi. She's 48 years old, a widow and the mother of six children, including three who go to school and three who are independent.

She sells food in her restaurant, a business she started 10 years ago with startup funds received from her husband. Later on, she got involved in Hekima's program to support her business, which enabled her to evolve progressively.

With this loan, she will buy potatoes, rice, beans, charcoal, cooking oil, meat and strengthen her working capital. Her business' challenge is linked to unpaid debts. She would like to be able to feed her family and continue sending her children in school.

In the end, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support provided to owners of non-bankable businesses in this context of global crisis linked to Covid-19.

Only the group's featured borrower appears in the photograph due to Covid-19 and to respect social distancing.
