A loan helped a member to buy simsim (sesame), millet and onion seedlings.

Ribbe Aye Teko Group's story

Sophia is a 63-year-old female living in Lira. She is widowed with two children. She has been growing millet, simsim (sesame) and onions for over 15 years, and she has entirely depended on these crops for survival as well as a small retail shop for additional income.

She is requesting a loan from VisionFund to buy quality simsim, millet and onion seedlings so that she is able to get a good yield and get good income. Sophia intends to use income from the harvest to rent more land for next season, and her dream is to see her children complete school and also construct a permanent home.

Sophia is thankful to Kiva for the financial support.
